Why shouldn’t grown-ups have some of the fun?

With more youngsters than ever wanting to take part in Scouting adventures, we are looking for more adult support to make it happen. Could you be part of our fantastic team of leaders and helpers? Scouting is a great way to meet new people, get outdoors, share skills and experience the wider world.

We need people to help occasionally or regularly to support our programme for all ages. You may have a specific skill to share with the next generation, be able to provide management, maintenance or administrative support or have a hands on role with full-on fun! Scouting is inclusive and welcomes anyone from our local community, no experience or special skills are needed; just a sense of fun, enthusiasm and a willingness to give it a go!

Scouting is hugely rewarding and offers opportunities, and training, to develop your won skills. Over 90% of our volunteers believe that the skills and experience that they have gained through Scouting have been relevant to their working or personal lives, so we’re certainly doing something right!

If you’d like a new challenge and are considering getting involved, maybe you’d like to take part in our 4-week Challenge; an opportunity for a taster of Scouting to see if it is for you, without the expectation of a long term commitment. We think you’ll like it!

Listen to our District Commissioner (Debbie Rushworth) talking on the radio about volunteering.

We always welcome new volunteers to support our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. For information on specific vacancies as they arise, please sign up to our Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
